STATISTICS FOR DESIGNERS

With the proliferation of data, and sensors seemingly everywhere in our lives, the rate at which data is being generated feels out of control. The goal of course is not to amass data – it’s to make meaning of that data, a task that can often be elusive. This workshop is designed to help you make sense of that data, get comfortable with basic statistics, design quantitative studies, understand and critique the design of quantitative studies handed to you by others, and make proper use of the results of those studies. (Note: not all studies are well designed.) This workshop is geared for design, marketing and engineering groups. It will encourage you to conduct influential, evidence-based design studies through the incorporation of quantitative methods in your current design activities.
